Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My buttocks are really itching. The skin over the buttocks has become black due to scratching. I suffer from hemorrhoids. Kindly suggest some quick and effective treatment for this condition, or can I do laser therapy? This has been in the same condition for more than four to five months. I am applying Lactocalamine and Vaseline.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

This is not due to hemorrhoids. You may have a laser treatment and others, but before that, you first need to get yourself examined and suitability for surgery. So visit a nearby surgeon for an examination. Do you frequently get bleeding? If yes, then you need surgery for it. The most important thing to prevent bleeding is you should avoid straining while passing stools. For that, you should eat a high-fiber diet like fruits, apples, bananas, oranges, and green leafy vegetables like spinach and raw cucumber. Avoid smoking, refined food, and fatty and oily food. You should have plenty of fluids and regular exercise. Also, I suggest using syrup Lactulose 15 to 30 ml at bedtime to maintain your stool soft.

For your buttocks, it is a fungal infection. Good hygiene and avoidance of moisture are key for prevention. Also, apply Terbinafine ointment two times a day for two weeks. You should get prescribed an oral medicine tablet Fluconazole 150 mg, once a week, and if needed, it should be repeated.
