Hello doctor,

I am a 23-year-old guy with a height of 5 feet 58 inches but my weight is only 110 lbs. How can I gain weight? The major issue is that I cannot eat properly even if I feel hungry. What should I do to get rid of this underweight problem?

First of all, it is important to rule out any specific cause for not gaining weight like thyroid problems with serum TSH (thyroid-stimulating hormone) estimation.

For gaining weight, you can take protein-rich foods and simultaneously gym also can be joined to build up muscles. With active muscle exercise, muscle hypertrophy occurs and your weight will gain.

Try to maintain your BMI (body mass index) between 20 to 25. If your BMI remains within this limit, then no need to worry.
