Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am 21 years old. I have gaps between the teeth with a little overbite and a premolar is missing.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have gone through the image (attachment removed to protect patient identity). First of all, you need to do an X-ray to determine whether the premolar is impacted or simply not present inside the jaw. Since the gaps are present between canine to canine, going for orthodontic treatment will not be a good idea in your case. Deep bite is also evident. You can go for dental crowns. They will not only cover the gaps but it produces aesthetic pleasing. Since your teeth are not so wide, they will be well adjusted and look good. You need a dental crown from upper canine to canine (total six crowns). Going for orthodontic treatment will create a complication in you. As the teeth in the lower jaw are innerly placed, placing a brace on the upper jaw will affect the lower jaw and cause inward movement further. Then it has to be modified along with it. I will not advise an orthodontic treatment for your case. The crown can be placed in a week and you will have a complete picture with a perfect smile.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
