Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have an abnormal skin growth around the vagina. They are tiny and white in color. They are only around the vaginal hole.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I need to see some pictures. How many numbers, size, redness, swelling? It can be many things from allergy, warts, skin tags, tumor, etc. Some times we need to send a biopsy of the grown skin to confirm the diagnosis and do treatment accordingly. Allergy can goes off as the allergen contact decrease. Warts may require cryotherapy like treatment. Skin tags and tumor may require surgery. Give some more details about the growth. Since when it occurs? Is it increasing or not? Painful? Other related histories?

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

It has grown in the last two months. It is not painful. No other related history.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

If a single lump, then it can be a skin tag, or it can be watt due to HPV (human papillomavirus) infection of skin. In both cases it needs a biopsy and send it for examination for what it is. If growing abnormally then it also can be a tumor and it will also get clear in biopsy if it is tumor and which type of tumor it is. If the size is more than 0.3 inch and lump-like then you can do an ultrasound scan to see whether it is a cyst or not. But as I said it needs clinical examination to narrow down near to diagnosis. If it is growing in two months of time and not painful then it will require a biopsy to confirm what the growth is?

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

Like I mentioned earlier, they are tiny growths, not a single lump. What can be done in that case?

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

It can be warts and also vulvar papillomatosis. It can be skin infection or hair follicles infection. It is more likely to be warts. May be cryotherapy needed. There are other options also. But before that, we have to confirm the diagnosis and without that, we cannot come to a confirmed treatment. And for confirmation, we need to send biopsy of growth for HPE examination and also swab for finding HPV virus in the lesion (growth). As you have growth and no symptoms, no pain, so first we have to confirm what it is.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

What do you suggest? Do you suggest any ointments or anything to begin with? or only tests?

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

For biopsy, you need to consult a nearby gynecologist or dermatologist for clinical examination and biopsy. As I said earlier I need to see the picture of the lesion to narrow down to some diagnosis. Growth can be of many types and many reasons. Ointment is not going to do anything if it is warts. It needs cryotherapy for permanent treatment. It will require more than a single seating treatment. It is a procedure. You do not have any pain so very less chance of infection. You can take Beclo-GM (Beclomethasone Dipropionate) like ointment. If it is allergic or infection then it may be helpful. But before experimenting on your own body I think to get one clinical examination done with a nearby gynecologist.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

Are there chances that it might be something serious?

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Some skin is growing. So there is some chances. And that is why examination and may be biopsy required. It cannot be completely ruled out. But there is also very less chances of something have more serious.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

I will keep these points in mind and get myself checked and the necessary tests done as soon as possible.
