Hello doctor,
I am experiencing acid reflux, nausea, and abdominal pain for the past six months. I also have food allergies like I cannot have any fruits or milk. However, I can consume vegetables and dairy. I doubt if I contracted the infection while swimming. My test reports are normal and the doctor could not suggest the exact cause of these symptoms. The only medicine that slightly helps is Mylanta.
Please help.
Hello
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I went through your query and understood your concern.
It seems you are suffering from GERD (Gastroesophageal reflux disease). And given your history of swimming, it is possible that you might have contracted the Helicobacter pylori infection causing the GERD. I suggest you get an endoscopy done to confirm this. Mylanta medicine is used to treat the symptoms of excessive production of stomach acids in conditions like stomach upset, heartburn, and acid indigestion. This is further suggestive of GERD. I, therefore, suggest you take a tablet of Pantoprazole (antacid) 40 milligrams twice a day on an empty stomach. The infection can be treated once it is proven after endoscopy. Sometimes, GERD can happen without the infection too.
Kindly consult a specialist, talk with them and take the medications with their consent.
I hope this has helped you.
Thanks and regards.
