Hello doctor,
My daughter is 22 years old, studying abroad is complaining of feelings of gas in upper GI tract making breathing difficult at times. GERD and H.pylori are possible suspects. Can you tell me tests to confirm or reject these possibilities? Can you tell me the possible treatments if tests are not strictly necessary? Would there be any other possibilities?
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
Gas in the abdomen is due to food and lifestyle. GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease) and H.pylori can be diagnosed by upper GI (gastrointestinal) endoscopy and biopsy. Need detail histroy to look for the exact symptoms and need clinical examinations also. Sometime gas may be due to intestinal bacterial overgrowth which can be diagnosed by lactulose breath test. Try to identify the food like milk which triggers the symptoms.
Hello doctor,
She coughs a lot in the morning. Stomach pain or tightness is also there. Mostly shortness of breath and stomach pain or tightness in the stomach. It is kind of like bloating. The pain is near left side near the belly button. She had heartburn once or twice two months back but not anymore. The above are her symptoms. Please advise in more detail.
Hi,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
Need to do upper GI endoscopy and lactulose breath test. Medicine depends on the above test.
