Patient's Query

Hi.

I have swollen and bleeding gums. My gums bleed every time I brush my teeth. Am I deficient in any vitamin? Is this condition happening due to any vitamin deficiency? Please help.

Answered by Dr. Alfiya K Jamal

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

Swollen and bleeding gums can be caused by various reasons.

Mostly it is caused by deposits of food around the tooth and in the gingiva. And it can sometimes occur due to vitamin deficiency also.

I suggest you use proper brushing techniques and maintain good oral hygiene to prevent any severe conditions.

Thank you.

The Probable causes

The most probable cause is poor oral hygiene.

Differential diagnosis

Differential diagnosis can be periodontitis.

Treatment plan

I suggest you get professional dental cleaning and take proper oral hygiene measures.

Regarding follow up

You must follow up after two weeks.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
