Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Kindly advise regarding glaucoma. I am having no serious complication in the body but having a problem in eyes like itching and sometimes feeling headache.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have gone through what you have mentioned and through your test reports (attachment removed to protect patient identity), I can tell you that the appearance of your optic discs is deviated from normal, as per the given photos and image, your eye pressure is 20 mmHg. As per the calculations on your summary sheet (18 + 2 for corneal thickness) and there again are a few deviations from the normal on your visual fields reports. Based on these tests you have shared, it is hard to reach any conclusions or brand you as a glaucoma patient. You see glaucoma is a chronic progressive disease which sometimes needs follow up data of around three visits, around 3 to 6 months apart for an accurate diagnosis to be made and for the patients to be started on treatment. My advice to you is to meet a glaucoma specialist as per your doctors orders and follow up with him. Depending on your test results and progression of visual field defects your treatment will be monitored and titrated. Progression of such glaucoma cases will be quite variable and unpredictable, but I would consider you to be lucky and to have a good outcome as your disease (if diagnosed in the future) has been picked up sooner than after substantial damage.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
