Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have problems with my vision for the past few months. It has become more noticeable. I can see only blurry numbers and digits beyond the distance of ten to twelve feet. I can recognize the faces but it seems to be blurry when I cry or under stress. I am unable to check my eyes here. I am not using any glasses. Before few years, I checked my eyes and my vision was 6/6 on both eyes. But now my right eye shows more blurred vision. I want to know whether it is glaucoma. Do I need glasses? Is it due to stress and excessive screen usage?

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

There is nothing to do with the error of refraction as you have checked your vision before few years and it was 6/6. So it excludes the cause. Glaucoma presents with headache in the early morning. You can have high intraocular pressure. For your age, it excludes the cause. You can have blurred vision due to excessive screen usage. I suspect it. If you are a heavy computer user, then this is the problem. Most probably, it is a dry eye disease caused due to increased computer usage. Reduce your screen usage. You can use lubricating eye drops four to five times a day. You can use antihistamine eye drops three times a day for a week.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
