Medical Conditions - Glycogen Deficiency

Glycogen deficiency is a condition that is caused by a disease called glycogen storage disease (GSD). Our body breaks down food, and the liver absorbs glucose from it for the normal functioning of the body. The liver converts simple glucose units into complex sugar called glycogen units, but due to genetic issues, the liver will not make sufficient glycogen, and hence the level of glycogen in our body decreases.
