Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have just noticed a white spot embedded in my gum behind my lower back molar teeth. The area is a bit swollen and is a little sore. My throat is also a bit swollen and a little sore.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have been through your query and I can understand your concern.

I need to know if you have any cavity or carious tooth near that sore. If yes, it might be due to the infection of the tooth which is exudating via the gum. However, if no carious tooth is there, then it is an aphthous ulcer and it will subside on its own within a week or two. If the sore does not go after two weeks, make an appointment with your nearest dentist to get the sore tested for any anomaly.

I would have prescribed you with Mouth Paint Ora-Gel or Dolo Gel in order to get relief from the pain (if any). Rub a drop or two over the white spot gently half an hour before meals. I would also suggest you do warm saline gargles in order to relieve your throat. I would advise you to have good oral hygiene and brush your teeth twice daily and floss regularly. Consider follow up after a week here.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
