Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I have gone through the history provided by you. Sudden hair loss can occur due to multiple reasons. The significant factors resulting in sudden hair loss include:
- Recent history of viral infections, including chickenpox, COVID-19, etc.
- Diseases like typhoid and dengue.
- Any minor or major surgeries which one may have undergone might cause stress.
All these factors lead to temporary hair fall that can last a few weeks to months. In this situation, the hair loss is reversible and will regrow with the proper medication and procedures.
Other cause of sudden hair fall includes:
- Genetic susceptibility, wherein a similar condition runs within the family and gets transmitted genetically.
- Changes in hormone levels, especially androgen levels, can result in sudden hair loss.
- Dietary changes.
- Climatic changes.
- The presence of dandruff is also called seborrheic dermatitis.
My advice:
Consult your specialist doctor, talk to them, and take medications with their consent.
1. Use a Ketoconazole and Zinc pyrithione lotion once a week for dandruff. Dilute three to four drops of the lotion in 1/3 rd cup of water and use to clean the scalp by massaging for a minute and keeping it on for five minutes before washing it off. Repeat for six to eight weeks
2. Take a tablet of Follihair (vitamins, minerals, amino acid with isoflavones, and grape seed extract) once daily after dinner for two months. It will help with hair growth stimulation and reducing hair fall
3. Take one teaspoon of protein powder mixed with one glass of milk and consume it in the morning after breakfast. It may help with hair growth stimulation.
4. Apply one ml of a sulfate-free hair lotion on the affected area of the scalp at night. Keep them overnight and wash them off in the morning.
5. You may get a few blood tests done, including CBC (complete blood count), hemoglobin, serum ferritin, serum iron, serum vitamin D3, DHEAS (dehydroepiandrosterone sulfate), and TFT (thyroid function test) to rule out any vitamin, mineral deficiencies or hormonal variations.
6. Platelet-rich plasma, or PRP, is a good treatment for hair growth stimulation and reducing hair fall. In this procedure, around 10 to 12 ml of your blood sample will be taken and centrifuged in a machine to extract growth factors which are then injected onto the scalp superficially with the help of an insulin syringe to stimulate hair growth and reduce hair fall. A professional usually does this procedure at a dermatologist clinic. It is usually repeated every four weeks for at least six sessions for good results.
I request you consult a dermatologist in person to undergo the treatment for hair restoration. Apart from the same, it will be difficult to diagnose the severity and intensity of hair fall in the absence of an image. Therefore, please provide a photo for further assessment and management options.
Hope the details provided above were informative and provided clarity.
Thank you.
