Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My daughter is seven years old. Around nine months back, she had a fever and was on antibiotics. After that, she has had hair fall till now. There is too much hair fall, even if I touch her hair. I am really scared. Already it had started thinning. I do not know what to do. I have checked her hemoglobin level on the advice of a doctor. It is 13.8 gm/dL. What could be the reason? Please suggest me some remedies. If it continues, I am scared that she will get baldness too.

Kindly help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

This hair fall is due to a fever that occurred nine months back. This stress-induced hair fall was programmed nine months back during fever and cannot be stopped now. However, the hair which is lost will be regained back after some time.

My advice:

Consult a specialist doctor, talk to them, and take the medications with their consent.

  1. Take a nutritious and protein-rich diet (pulses, milk products, and eggs).
  2. Avoid routine application of gels or frequent blow drying of the hair.
  3. Use a combination of Magnesium (50 mg), Pyridoxine (1500 mcg), and Zinc (1200 mcg) shampoo twice a week.
  4. Take a capsule of Gamma-linolenic acid and multivitamins once daily for three to six months.
  5. Apply Topisal 6 % (Clobetasol and Salicylic acid) lotion over the affected areas of the scalp at night.

Continue this treatment for two weeks, and revert for further queries.

Thank you.
