Patient's Query

Hi,

I am in need of a quick consultation. Two days back, I was playing football. I took the knee to the back of the head (was not unconscious or anything) i could feel a bit of pain however it wasn't till after the game when the adrenaline wasn't there i could feel pain in the back of my head and realized that i have had a huge lump. For the past two days i have been applying ice on it whenever i'm at home after work and it has went down. I do get weird headaches that are infrequent and don;t last long at all, get a bit dizzy, lost my appetite and sometimes when sitting down get pins and needeels in my legs which is rare for me. Do you think i got mild concussion and if so should i stay away from training for some period of time?

Hi

Welcome to icliniq

Thank you for writing and i am concern about you. So basically if the force of knee was hard enough to hit head and you got lump there so there are chances of some injuries or fracture. In such case first of all I would like you to do x ray of affected area. And yes you should avoid playing for sometimes because when you play then a pressure builds up and leading to headache and etc. so take a rest and do x ray to rule out injuries. You can send me x ray and I will prescribe you medicine accordingly.

For pain you can apply diclofenac gel on lump Or else tab paracetamol 500 mg once a day after meal when you feel pain. If it’s normal lump it will disappear in a weak of soon. Is it possible to get a pic of lump so i can explain more. Would you like to ask anything else Please message or call Thank you
