Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have been suffering from a tingling sensation in my jaw for four days after getting hit in the back of the head the night before the pain started. I have been having headaches for months and got my MRI and CT scan done which showed negative for the presence of any masses. I am currently taking the tablet Eliwel and am concerned if the condition worsens. Kindly help.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for the reply.

I am concerned if it is trigeminal neuralgia (TN) and worried as it occurs on both sides of the jaw and my cheeks. Kindly help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern.

According to the description given by you, it cannot be trigeminal neuralgia (TN). It could be related to local inflammation of both temporomandibular joints due to the trauma. Kindly do not worry as it can be treated.

I hope this information will help you.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for the reply.

The frequency of occurrence of tingling sensation has increased along with a slight burning sensation. I have consulted a dentist and the temporomandibular joint disorders were ruled out. The blood reports have also been normal. Kindly help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern.

The symptoms mentioned by you are not typical of trigeminal neuralgia as there is no electric shock-like or shooting pain. I think the trauma has triggered this clinical situation along with anxiety playing an important role.

I advise you to follow the below-mentioned instructions.

  1. Take supplements with valerian and passiflora to see improvement in your situation by helping them to calm your nervous system and anxiety.
  2. Kindly consult a specialist, talk to them, and take the medications with their consent.

I hope this information will help you.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
