Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a female who has entered her twenties. My height is 5 feet 8 inches and my weight is 94 pounds. I have had a constant headache for the past three days which is not getting better with the counter medication. The headache is normally on the left side of my head and around the back but sometimes includes the right side too. I also have pain at the base of my skull (top of my neck), particularly on the left side. Because of the headache, I feel very lethargic all the time. Previously I had recurring headaches for weeks, but I was told that it was due to the stress of university. However, now I am not at university anymore and am not stressed. Currently, I am taking Rigevidon.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thank you for your query. You are not having any stress history, so a tension headache is not a possibility. Your blood pressure should be checked and a neurological examination should be carried out if any abnormal findings, then a CT (computed tomography) scan should be done. Ibuprofen and Paracetamol combination drug can be taken sos (if there is a need) for headaches until then. Kindly consult a specialist, talk to them, and take medications with their consent. Migraine should be ruled out by taking further history in form of a unilateral headache of throbbing nature and nausea and photo phobia-like presentation. Provide such history if present. Provide any common cold or ear infection-associated history, if present. Consult a physician for examination. Let me know if I can assist you further. I hope this has helped you. Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
