Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have had bipolar depression for the past many years. Despite taking many medicines, I feel severe neuropathic headaches daily that hurdle my performance in daily activities. I have tried so many antidepressants but they have not improved my condition.

Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I went through your query and understood your concern.

There are some factors that may precipitate headaches. Has this headache started due to taking medications or is it related to stress? Daily chronic headache occurs most probably due to stress.

Kindly follow up with the answers.

I hope this has helped you.

Thanks and regards.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thanks for your reply.

I do not think these headaches are due to medications. I feel exhausted and low on energy levels. I am unable to focus on my studies.

Please help.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

It seems you do not have any other signs and symptoms suggestive of depression. So, it may be an independent entity. Have you tried Betacap TR (Propranolol) 40 milligrams?

Kindly update us with the answer.

I hope this has helped you.

Thanks and regards.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Since I am on psychic medication for a longer period of time, what should be the strategy to get rid of that?

Please help.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I suggest you please try the above-mentioned tablet for ten days if you do not have asthma.

Kindly consult a specialist, talk with them, and take medicines with their consent.

I hope this has helped you.

Thanks and regards.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thanks for your reply.

My pulse rate is usually around 65 beats per minute. Can I start taking the medicine Propranolol as suggested by you?

Please help.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I suggest you do not start with Propranolol. Instead, I suggest you take Prolet (Primidone) 25 milligrams at night.

Kindly consult a specialist, talk with them, and take medicines with their consent.

I hope this has helped you.

Thanks and regards.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thanks for your reply.

I wanted to ask if Prolet is important to take. I am taking other medicines also.

Please help me.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Very few options are available when we talk about headache prophylaxis drugs. These include:

1. SSRI (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors).

2. Beta-blockers.

3. Tricycle antidepressants.

4. Sodium valproate (anti-epileptic).

So, I suggest you take a tablet of Tryptomer ( Amitriptyline) 25 milligrams daily during night time.

Kindly consult a specialist, talk with them, and take medicines with their consent.

I hope this has helped you.

Thanks and regards.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thanks for your reply.

I have adapted to Tryptomer, but I feel sleepy after taking the medicine. Can I reduce the dosage from 25 milligrams to 10 milligrams?

Please help.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

You should take a dose of 25 milligrams of Tryptomer at the night.

Kindly consult a specialist, talk with them, and take medicines with their consent.

I hope this has helped you.

Thanks and regards.
