Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Every week after my soccer game, I get heartburn and the feeling of vomiting. I usually vomit a couple of hours after the game. I also do not get the symptoms immediately but a couple of hours after the game. I usually recover after two days, but the same happens after the next game. What could be the reason?

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thank you for your query.

I understand your concern. You probably have gastritis, after a period of exertion and stress, as in the case of a football match. Do you have other symptoms like abdominal pain or loss of appetite? Heavy alcohol consumption in celebration or going without food for a long time can be some possibilities as to why this happens a few hours after a match. I suggest you to follow a few instructions mentioned below.

  1. Get upper gastrointestinal endoscopy and liver function test done.
  2. Take a tablet of Esomeprazole 20 mg every 12 hours, half an hour before meal.

Kindly consult a specialist, talk to them and take medications with their consent.

I hope this has helped you. Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
