Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am 16 years old. I look short. My parent's height is 5 feet 3 inches and 5 feet 4 inches. How can I increase my height?

Answered by Dr. Suneetha B S

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

The actual height of an individual depends to a greater extent on genetic factors. If your body is designed genetically to grow to a certain height, it is difficult to change it. You can boost your height by indulging in physical activities like skipping and playing games like basketball. The usual growing period for males is between the age of 13 to 18 years. On considering your age, you can still indulge in physical activities. It can keep you healthy and may help in gaining height. Also eat lots of natural foods like raw vegetables, fruits, and sprouts. Try to maintain a healthy weight. It can make you look lean and fit.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
