Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have blood in my stool. Please help.

Answered by Dr. Jagdish Singh

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have read your query and understand your concern.

At this age, the blood in the stool is mostly due to piles. Please answer the following questions, so that I can guide you accordingly.

1. Is your stool hard, normal, or loose?

2. Is there any pain or swelling in the anal area?

Thank you and take care.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thank you for your reply.

It was a little hard initially and then normal but I am not sure about the burning sensation. I have GERD and I am feeling a little abdominal discomfort on and off for the past few weeks. I did not have a bowel movement two days back, but had one yesterday. The stool was hard with a little streak of blood on the tissue. Today initially the stool was hard and then after that, it was normal with blood as shown in the picture.

Answered by Dr. Jagdish Singh

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understand your concern.

All of your signs indicate a condition known as piles. The stool should not be hard, which is why I am suggesting you the following medication.

1) Avoid spicy and oily foods.

2) Milk of magnesia syrup 15 ml at bedtime with a glass of water.

3) A combination of Diosmin plus Hesperidin tablet 500 mg twice daily after meals.

4) Tranexamic acid tablet 500 mg twice daily after meals.

However, please consult a physician, discuss with them and start taking the medications with their consent.

Hope this helps.

Thank you and take care
