Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 25 year old male. Yesterday, I was diagnosed with herpes even though I never had sex before. Not even kissing. How is that possible? From yesterday night I have mild fever. The rash started on left side of torso a few days back. Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com. Herpes is not a STD always (sexually transmitted disease). It is the reactivation of the old chickenpox you got in childhood. The virus is same, it hides in nerves and never completely goes away. It resurfaces after some time like herpes in a particular dermatome when you have contact from someone with it or through fomites as well. Continue the medicines given by your doctor. Crusting means you are no longer contagious. But, until that time be away from children and pregnant women in house.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
