Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am a 54-year-old male. I am approximately 20 pounds overweight due to COVID-19 stress. I went to my physician, and my blood pressure was 120/80, and all other lab tests were normal except for triglycerides at 667. I am not on any medications typically for hypertriglyceridemia. I was not fasting at the time of the test. I am panicked by this, as my previous ten years of lipids have been completely normal. The only thing I can think that has been any different in my life is that I developed scabies last year and developed ID reactions to the treatment. I had to be on high-dose Prednisone for two months.

I feel healthy and well otherwise, but again I am panicked.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thanks for the query.

I can understand your concern. According to your statement, you have been suffering from obesity, and your recent lipid profile has shown that your triglycerides level are 667 that is very above normal. According to your lipids profile test and results, you should start to take Fenofibrate to reduce your triglycerides levels. You should avoid fatty and oily foods by taking plenty of green leafy vegetables. You should take measures to reduce body weight also. You can do regular exercises daily. Totally avoid fatty and oily foods and start to take Fenofibrate daily. After three months, do repeat your fasting lipid profile test.

Take care.

I hope I have answered your question. In case of any other query, ask me.
