Hi doctor,

Sometimes I experience headaches and right shoulder pain. My blood pressure readings for the past years have been normal and show 82/125. However, last year, a medical checkup conducted by the company revealed that my blood pressure had reached the level of 102/155, with a heart rate of 65 to 75. A blood test, urine analysis, and ECG were performed. Everything was normal. What should I do, and should I start taking medication? Or can it be controlled through exercise and diet? I walk for 40 to 50 minutes in the morning and play badminton regularly. In the last 25 years, I have not consumed coffee, tea, or meat. I eat mainly vegetarian meals. I am in my forties. How can the cause of high blood pressure be determined? In comparison, I felt less hungry and believed that one meal was adequate, yet, I had difficulty sleeping at night. Please make some suggestions.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern. You are doing a great job by eating well and exercising regularly. However, you need to monitor your blood pressure every day, two to three times at random, for a month to get your average blood pressure. Medication will be prescribed if the moderate blood pressure is too high. Antihypertensive drugs are not given based on a single increase in blood pressure.
