Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have had dark brown-colored urine for the past two months. I underwent a blood test and scan suggested by a urologist. The result showed kidney stones and high uric acid levels. No allopathic medicines have been taken so far. Instead chose homeopathy. Symptoms were diminishing. Then drank six bottles of beer in three days this month. Now I have heaviness and dull pain on the right side (below the rib cage).

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

You have a kidney stone of approximately 0.393 inch in the left kidney, which can cause pain. The report (attachments removed to protect the patient's identity) is more than two months old. You will need to repeat it to know the exact status of renal stones. Urine color is dependent on liquid and medication intake. The brown color of urine can be either caused by homeopathy medication or mild bleeding in the kidney due to a stone. We will need urine microscopy to confirm the cause. Therefore, I suggest you revisit your local urologist and get a sonography scan repeated along with urine microscopy, which will help diagnose the exact cause of the problem. Only then can treatment be planned.
