Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am a 27-year-old male. For the last six months, I am suffering from poor quality of sleep. I am not able to wake up early in the morning whether I go to bed early or late. My body feels heavy and lazy. I also have muscle aches, especially the muscle of my palms and feet. Low energy, fatigue, daytime sleepiness, and laziness are the symptoms that are present every day. I am here to understand this and get treated for the same. Please help.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Your problems are related to increased pitta (pitham). Increased pitham is due to late time sleep, less sleep, disturbed sleep, over workload, physical stress, mental stress, constantly thinking about sex, increased sexual activity, excess spicy food, roaming under sunlight, wearing tight woolen or jeans dresses, etc. All these increased pitham and your body and mind need to be cooled. Pitham should be reduced. The symptoms of high pitham will be burning sensation of eye and stomach, burning sensation of urine, constipation or diarrhea, less disturbed sleep, headache, excess sweating, heat in head, sinusitis, etc. Following are the Siddha herbal remedies you can follow.

  1. Arakku thailam (Kombarakku, Sesame oil, Sandal wood) or Kulir thamarai thailam (Kamala, Tila taila, Kachora) buy any of these oil. Apply to the head and whole body in the morning, take bath after one hour of application of the oil. Take bath until your eyes become cool and a drop of urine passes. Can use Seeyakai powder or Seeyakai shampoo to wash. This should be done daily.
  2. Nannari legium (Hemidesmus indicus, Nymphaea stellata, Cuminum cyminum)- one spoon four times in a day. This should be taken at 8:00 AM (before breakfast), 12:00 PM (before lunch), 4:00 PM (before dinner) and before bed.
  3. Nannari manapagu (Hemidesmus indicus, Sugar, Water) - Mix 2 tsp of this in a cup of water and drink. This should be used instead of drinking water for the whole day.
  4. Dry grapes - Whenever you want to eat snacks, you should eat only this. Avoid other snakes prepared in oil.

Use more cumin and coriander seeds in cooking. You can take tender coconut water, grape juice, and orange. Also, try to practice pranayama. Go to bed early (before 11 PM) and just close your eyes. Think only of your nostril opening and just observe the air coming in and out through the nostril. Do not think of others and forget office work while entering home. If you follow this advice, then you will be alright. You can continue other allopathy drugs and no need to stop them.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
