Hello doctor,

My laboratory reports show a high blood platelet count of 630,000 per microliter of blood, and I am worried. My doctor suggested an appointment with an oncologist and blood specialist. I have had heart problems and have one stent. I am currently taking Prozac, Effient, Aspirin, Lisinopril, Lipitor, Metoprolol, and Omeprazole. What causes high platelet counts?

Please help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

High platelet count could be from a primary cause or a secondary cause. Primary cause includes myeloproliferative neoplasm, and secondary causes include post-hemorrhage, inflammation, infection, etc. So kindly provide your detailed clinical history and full CBC (complete blood count) report for giving more comments.

Thank you.
