Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a female who is going to enter her thirties. I am healthy and I do not smoke or drink. I eat healthy foods and go to the gym five to six times a week. I have been experiencing left hip pain that started in my groin area about four months ago. It hurts when I sit, walk, lie down, and mostly when I lift my leg up towards my torso or when I work out. The pain can be described as burning or throbbing for one minute and then dull and less severe in the next minute. I have taken Ibuprofen but it does not help with the pain. The pain has decreased my quality of life and has become unbearable. What would you suggest?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thank you for your query.

You have left hip pain suggestive of ligament pull or impingement. I suggest you answer a few questions mentioned below.

  1. Is the pain more during the morning and accompanied by stiffness?
  2. Which movement like flexion, extension, abduction, or adduction causes maximum pain?
  3. Do you have rest pain? If you have pain, I feel you have impingement or ligament strain which can be discerned by MRI (magnetic resonance imaging).

I hope this has helped you.

Thank you.
