Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am doubtful whether I acquired an HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) infection or STDs (Sexually Transmitted Diseases) after having protected sex with a stranger. During sexual intercourse, I kissed only on her forehead and chin, not on her mouth or lips; I also sucked her breasts and kissed her outer body. But, the woman had tried to insert my penis into her vagina. I was not even sure whether I inserted it or not. Only later did I realize that I was having sex with the woman, and she gave me a hand job. I am extremely worried and depressed. Please help me with this situation.

Hi, Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern. The chances of transmitting HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) by single protected intercourse with an HIV-positive person are almost nil if a condom is used correctly, as in your scenario. Likewise, the chances with other descriptions are almost nil. However, there are possibilities of transmission of STDs (sexually transmitted diseases) like the herpes simplex virus, which can be transmitted by skin-to-skin contact or kissing.

I hope this was helpful.
