Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

A week ago, I had an intercourse with a masseuse. I was wearing a condom while penetrating her, but while I was removing it after sex, I realized that there was a tear in it. I do not know her HIV status. What should I do now? Kindly advise.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thank you for your query. I understand your concern and would be happy to help. The chances of transmission of HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) after single unprotected intercourse with an HIV-positive person are low. I suggest you go for an HIV antibodies test now and after three months of exposure to have conclusive results. I hope this helps. Do revert in case of further questions.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
