Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I had vaginal sex with my ex-boyfriend, and he ejaculated six months back three times (only once we had sex). But then we broke up three months before, and I found out he is HIV positive and does not take his medication regularly. However, he did not reveal this to me even now, and I got to know about this through a mutual friend. So is it possible that I am also infected, or are there chances for me to be saved?

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

The chances of transmission of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) by single unprotected intercourse with a HIV positive person is low. Multiple times increases the risk. It is late for prevention now. You can go for HIV antibodies test now to be relieved of anxiety totally and conclusive results

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
