Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am a 37-year-old male, and I have had a problem with masturbation for the past 20 years. I masturbate an average of three times a week. I tried to stop, and I was able to avoid it for months. But again, there is a relapse. I engage in masturbating when I do not feel sleepy, when I am alone, on seeing some images that are sexually related, and when I am tensed. I used to see porn videos while masturbating.

Now, I have weakness in my left side, tremors, and shaking when I lift something. I consulted a neurologist, and he did an MRI and other tests, and everything was fine. Since the visit was with my wife, I did not mention to him my habit of masturbating.

I feel ashamed of doing this, but I cannot control it. Also, I have a habit of pulling my hair when I am tensed, analyzing something, and while even sitting idle. I have high cholesterol, for which I am under Ayurveda medicine.

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Masturbation and sex help in stress relief. Masturbation is not unhealthy. It is just physical exercise that improves your stamina and health.

In your case, you are doing masturbating three times a week, which is relatively healthy. Weakness, trembling in feet and hands and shaking while lifting objects are not because of masturbation.

Therefore, stop worrying about masturbating or porn watching. Secondly, do not try to stop it because wanting to stop and inability to stop increases your stress and worsens your symptoms. These symptoms could be because of your worries about masturbation. So, I suggest you consult a doctor in person for a physical investigation.

Take care.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
