Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I had sex with my fiance two months back. I had taken two I-pills in a span of one week. Generally, I get my periods on the first of every month. Last month, I got my periods on the first, and it lasted for 5 to 6 days like my normal periods. Although, I am not sure whether it was withdrawal bleeding or regular periods. My concern is that it is 14th already, and I still have not got my periods. I did two home pregnancy test, and both of them were negative. And I used the first-morning urine. Is there a reason to worry? When can I expect my next periods? I am really worried. Can you please help?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I-pill protects 95 to 98 % of pregnancies, however, once one takes I-pill, the period may either come a week before or a week later.

I do not think you are pregnant because I-pill causes hormonal irregularities and has caused a delay in periods. You should go for pregnancy test again after a week.

Regards.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for replying. I have already done two pregnancy tests, one on the fourth and the other on the 12th of this month. Both the times it came negative.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

  • You should do one more test a week later if you do not have periods for another week. For the time being, you need not worry. The chances of being pregnant are less than 1 %.
