Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 24-year-old male. I am currently not taking any medications. I had a panoramic x-ray done a few days ago. I would like to hear your opinion on the photo.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

You are having two mesioangular impactions that need to be removed. In simple words, your last two lower molars need to be removed. The last two upper molars are also not appropriately erupted, in case it is troubling you, you can get them also removed.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thanks for your reply.

My dentist told me that the teeth (particularly the one on the left of the photo) have grown so that removing it can cause permanent nerve damage. So she suggested that I do not get the teeth removed and that as long as I clean the space between them and the molars, there should not be an issue. What do you think about that? Do you think it is dangerous to leave them? Also, do you see any periodontal disease in this photo? If yes, how severe? And what kind of treatment could help this?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

It is not dangerous to keep the tooth there till it is not hurting you, and if you maintain your oral hygiene properly, there is no danger. Your OPG (attachment removed to protect patient identity) does not show any vertical bone loss. Therefore there is no active periodontitis. If you have bleeding gums, you need to get an oral prophylaxis (dental scaling) done.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
