Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am an 18-year-old female of height 5 feet 8 inches, and weight 138 pounds. I have a question. What is the difference between implantation bleeding or spotting, and periods? I have strong stomach cramps with brownish-red (light red) spotting. Do I have my periods? Kindly assist me on the same.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to iCliniq.com

It is difficult to predict the condition, but if the spotting is observed at the time of your expected period and bleeding is heavy, then most likely it is your period. On the other hand, implantation bleeding is more likely if it is just spotting and occurring before the expected period. You can get a pregnancy test in a few days for a better diagnosis.

Please let me know if you have follow-up questions. It has been my pleasure to help you.

Thank you and best wishes.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
