Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My daughter is 15 years old, and she finds it challenging to sleep at night. However, she is active the whole day, even if she sleeps or not. I am worried about her health, and I want to know if there are ways to help her with better sleep quality. Even though she is active, I can see the difference in her eyes, and I do not know if her sleeplessness may create problems in the future. Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

A sound sleep or rest is mandatory for the body to recover and rejuvenate. Therefore, I suggest the following:

1. Make sure she is well hydrated.

2. Keep her away from excessive screen time (it can hinder the sleep cycle).

3. Avoid giving her junk food.

4. Give a balanced nutritional diet.

5. Get her investigated to rule out any medical conditions and treat her accordingly.

6. A light massage, dim lights, reading a book, or meditation will help at bedtime.

7. Walking, yoga, and exercise also help.

Regards.
