Hi doctor,
I am a 32-year-old female. Nowadays, I am not getting good sleep at night. I sleep only for four hours a day. I sit in front of the computer for ten hours a day. Is this disturbing my sleep? How to get good sleep at night? Please help.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
Yes, long hours in front of the computer might be the reason for your disturbed sleep. You should improve your sleep hygiene. Things you should try to go to bed and wake up at the same time each day, even on weekends, 30 minutes before bedtime you should have a relaxing regime. For example, you can have a warm bath or do meditation or listen to music, if you are unable to go to sleep within 20 minutes, it may be helpful to get out of bed and read or listen to relaxing music in dim light. Things you should try not to do: Do not take naps, especially after 3 PM, do not take coffee after lunchtime, do not smoke, exercise or take a heavy meal two hours before bedtime. When trying to sleep avoid thinking about problems of life, how to solve them and what happened during the day. Thank you.
