Q. What is the treatment for ingrown hair that came after waxing?

I have an uneven skin tone with dark forehead and dry skin. I want to brighten my complexion. Also, I have small bumps and ingrown hair after waxing. I have attached pictures of the same. Please suggest a treatment.

I have read your query and examined your picture (attachment removed to protect patient identity). You have developed ingrown hair or keratosis pilaris and also have dark circles. I suggest the following:
- Use Mometasone cream in the morning and evening daily over the ingrown hair.
- Apply Tacrolimus ointment 0.03 % daily at night over the sides of the thigh.
- Over the arms use Microbenz (Benzoyl peroxide topical) gel every day at bedtime.
- For dark circles use Melaglow new (Avobenzone topical) cream daily at bedtime.
Consult your specialist doctor, discuss with him/her and take the medicines after their consent.
