Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have had an issue for the past few months near my groin area right side. After an ejaculation mostly but it does sometimes appear normally a bulge or more like a muscle cramp which comes and disappears after a while. It does pain a bit, but it gets fine once it disappears.

Please give your opinion.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

This is likely to be a small inguinal hernia, and it appears with increasing intraabdominal pressure, then disappear, and pain disappears. It is at its initial stage; therefore, you get fine automatically with time. If it becomes bigger, it will be more prominent and might need to be reduced manually. For diagnosis of early hernia, you will need an ultrasound of the groin. A hernia results from weakness of abdominal wall muscle or due to constant high pressure due to abdominal distention or constipation. Last but not least, cause, especially for people below 40 years, will be congenital. Hernia needs to be corrected surgically, but a clear diagnosis is important.

Please follow up with the ultrasound result so I can proceed with further advice.

If you have any more queries, please let me know.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thank you.

Is the issue severe and dangerous, which I have to test immediately, or can it be done later? I will do an ultrasound as soon as I am back in my home city.

Please let me know.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

No, it is not urgent, and you can do it any time in two months or three months time. But treatment is mandatory as it can get obstructed if you leave it over the years, then it will be an emergency. But at the moment, it is not an emergency, and you can wait till you complete the evaluation to confirm the diagnose.

I hope this was helpful.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
