Interstitial lung disease refers to a group of lung disorder which causes scarring of lungs. Long-term exposure to poisonous substances like asbestos, coal dust, etc., causes the development of this disease. Dry cough, fatigue, breathlessness, chest discomfort, and weight loss are some symptoms. Chest X-rays, CT scans, etc., are used in the diagnosis of the disorder. Treatment options are oxygen therapy, pulmonary rehabilitation, medications like corticosteroids, etc.
