Usually, elastics are supposed to be worn full-time for the duration for which aligner trays are worn. So, elastic wear should also be worn for around 22 hours. What kind of elastics are you asked to wear? What is the orientation of the elastics? Are you undergoing two years of active treatment or including post-treatment retainers? Careful assessment of your face, teeth position, and the elastic's orientation is needed to determine if the duration of wearing the elastics needs to change. I suggest you follow up with photos of your face (front view, profile view, and while smiling), intra-oral photos (front view, right and left teeth), and photos with the elastics on (to check their orientation).
