Can the white gum-like discharge before two days and dry vagina be a cause of concern for me?

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am 28 years old and had my last period two months back. I do not have regular cycles and have been detected with PCOS. However, I have been having my periods on time for the last two months. This month I missed my period. Last month, I did not have penetrative sex. However, my boyfriend ejaculated a bit in my panty. Four days later, I had egg white clear stretchy mucus, which gradually turned into a gum-like white discharge. And for the last two days, I have had a dry vagina. There is no itching or foul odor. Why is my vagina dry, and I have delayed periods?

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com,

I understand your concern.

Poly cystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) is a hormonal issue. It keeps coming back. Even though the possibility of pregnancy seems low, you must still confirm by a urine pregnancy test. It is a simple and easy test. Pregnancy kits are easily available at a very low price at any local pharmacy. If the pregnancy test is negative, take blood tests for hormone levels, start oral contraceptive pills, and treat PCOS. In addition to this, thyroid hormonal imbalance can also cause period problems. So, I suggest you take the thyroid test also. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle, sleep, and a balanced diet will also help.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thank you for the reply.

I want to ask, without penetration can I be pregnant, and why is vaginal dryness there?

Answered by Dr. Deepali Raina

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com,

I understand your concern.

The possibility is very low; hormones are responsible for the vaginal milieu, and hormonal imbalance can cause vagina dryness.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
