Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 29-year-old female. My periods are irregular and painful as well. The flow is occasionally heavy. I have had nausea throughout my period. I recently had sex with my husband, and now I am experiencing severe abdominal discomfort. I did not use any medication for this. Is everything connected, or am I really experiencing a problem? Should I have a scan to find out about this? Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

Irregular periods, painful periods, heavy flow, and nausea can be symptoms of various gynecological issues, such as endometriosis, uterine fibroids, or ovarian cysts.

Pain in the abdomen after intercourse could be due to various reasons, including an infection or inflammation of the reproductive organs. Regular blood tests and an abdominal ultrasound are suggested. In the meantime, you can try taking over-the-counter pain relievers to help with the pain. Applying heat to the affected area, such as a heating pad or warm towel, may also provide some relief. Please do not be scared, as many of these conditions are treatable with medication, surgery, or other therapies.

I hope this helps.

Thank you and take care.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
