Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I tested for pregnancy after a week of missing periods, and two weeks after having unprotected sex. All the results came negative. But still, I did not get periods. Please guide me and suggest medicine for withdrawal bleeding. I have irregular menstrual cycles and I have a high amount of stress.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern. I assume that you have used a kit for testing pregnancy. Please mention about the last menstrual period, when was the unprotected sex done, when was the period to be expected and when you started to have irregular periods.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

I had a thirty-day cycle for two months. But last month, I had periods after 35 days. I did not have any unprotected sex after 28 days. But he rubbed his penis over my vagina with some erections but not hard. Before this event, I missed my periods two to three times and I also get periods after 40 days also.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

There is a least likely chance to have a pregnancy in the history of irregular periods. You can have menorrhagia (heavy and irregular periods). Please mention whether your bleed is heavy or scanty.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

I have painful periods and I have heavy bleeding for two days after getting heavy periods.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

You have menstrual disturbance and pregnancy is least likely to occur in this condition. You require further evaluation and treatment. There are many reasons to have menorrhagia. It requires further blood tests to evaluate the cause. Without knowing the cause, it is difficult to prescribe medicine. I suggest you consult a gynecologist for further evaluation.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

I am running my family and I have stress due to missed periods. Do this lead to delayed periods?

Answered by Dr. Nagaraj

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Yes, stress can affect menstruation and it leads to irregularities.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

Thank you so much.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

You are welcome.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

If left untreated, will it create complications in future pregnancies?

Answered by Dr. Nagaraj

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

If it is untreated, you can have difficulty in conceiving in the future. Heavy bleeding leads to weakness and anemia. It leads to further complications during pregnancy. Anemia can have implications on the heart also.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

You are correct and I got my periods after 44 days. It was a bit unusual than ever before.

Answered by Dr. Nagaraj

Hi,

Consult the doctor soon to have proper treatment.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
