Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am 24 years old. From quite a long time my periods have been irregular. The pattern is oligo and hypomenorrhea. I got tested, found subclinical hypothyroidism and taking 25 micrograms Thyroxine. Also, PCOD profile was done which was normal except LH was at the higher range. USG showed PCOD like picture but not proper. There were few cysts. Weight is normal. Progesterone withdrawal is normal. What next should I do? Kindly help.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

PCOD (polycystic ovarian disease) may not always present with classic symptoms. Your condition is suggestive of PCOD. Just exercises daily. Do not gain weight. Cut down on carbohydrates. Also, daily Vitamin D 400 IU can be of some help. Otherwise, you have to take birth control pills which are basically hormones to regularize your cycles. Also, if you have long-standing PCOD or oligo or hypomenorrhea, you should be vigilant about the ill effects of excess estrogen in your body. Consult a doctor in person.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
