Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have irregular periods, and I do not have a specific date of arrival. I missed my periods last month, and they have not begun yet. Two months ago, I had an irregular flow as well, where the blood flow was very less. I am sexually active, my last intercourse was in the first week of last month, and it was protected. I am not pregnant. I have tested with the self-testing kit twice. Please suggest.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I thoroughly read your query and understand your concern.

As you have a history of irregular periods so missed periods are probably due to that only. If the pregnancy test is negative then I can give you medicine to induce your periods for now and after that, we can investigate you further to know the cause of irregular periods. For now, I suggest you take the tablet Meprate (Medroxyprogesterone Acetate) 10 mg twice daily for five days. When you stop this you will get your period. I suggest you the following investigations:

  • Thyroid profile.
  • Serum prolactin.
  • Blood sugar levels.
  • Ultrasound pelvis.

Hope this helps.

Kind regards.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thanks for the reply.

Let me check with the tablets first. I recently had my medical checkup, which had a significant observation of low hemoglobin and eosinophilia as well. Do you think this affects the cycle?

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern and query.

What was your hemoglobin value?

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thanks for the concern. My hemoglobin value was 11.8 g/dL.

Answered by Dr. Natasha Bansal

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

Low hemoglobin has an effect on this but your hemoglobin levels are not that low. This is almost normal. So eosinophilia and hemoglobin do not have an impact in your case.

Hope this has addressed your concern.

Kind regards.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
