Hello doctor,
My menstrual cycle is irregular. Last month, it began in the middle of the month, and I was shocked to see I got within ten days and continued till seven days with heavy blood flow. Kindly help.

PCOS (polycystic ovary syndrome) is very common, especially in young populations. Irregular periods, acne, and excessive weight gain are commonly seen in PCOS and thyroid disorders. I would suggest doing an ultrasound scan and thyroid profile. A thyroid profile should be done on an empty stomach early morning. To stop the bleeding take Tranexavag MF (tranexamic acid and mefenamic acid) two times daily for five days after the meal. However, please consult a physician, discuss with them, and start taking the medications with their consent.
