Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

My mom got sudden chest pain. Why? I have attached her echocardiography for reference.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thanks for the query. I saw your mother's Echocardiography (echo). It is very normal (attachment removed to protect patient's identity). Please attach ECG (electrocardiogram) also. Does she have diabetes, hypertension, kidney, and thyroid issue? Does she have any fever or cough? What is the exact location of the chest pain? When does this chest pain occur, during exertion, coughing, changing posture, after eating, or present every time?

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

She has a thyroid issue and has no fever or cough. The chest pain is occurring for the past two days, and now it has been better as she is taking Etoshine 90 mg medication given by the local doctor. This pain is unusual, like earlier as she never had before. ECG shows abnormal while echo, Doppler, and Troponin are normal. Doctor advised us to come on Monday for a stress test (Thread mill test).

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Thanks for the query. Yes, ECG changes (electrocardiogram) are suggestive of ischemic cardiac pain, but it is not a heart attack as troponin and echocardiography are normal. The next step is a stress test, either stress ECG or stress echocardiography. It will risk stratify her, and further plans will be made accordingly.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
