Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My private area recently started itching badly, and little white pieces began coming around the head. Then a pinching sensation occurred when I had sex with my wife; today, sole little bumps showed up. I am attaching a photo of the bumps.

Thank you

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I did not see any attached photos (attachment removed to protect the patient's identity), but your symptoms suggest a fungal and bacterial infection. For all genital infections, it is very important to get a physical examination by a urologist or general physician. Most of the infections look the same in the picture. However, subtle differences in examination confirm the diagnosis, and proper treatment can only be planned once the diagnosis is made. Your partner may also need a physical exam because if your infection is sexually transmitted, your partner also requires treatment, even though she may be asymptomatic. The usual treatment for these infections consists of antibiotics tablets and antibacterial and antifungal creams. Though they respond well to treatment, they do tend to reoccur sometimes.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Please advise me what should I take for this since I am not able to visit my GP.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

You would not get medication without a prescription from your country's doctor. You need to get an ointment of antibacterial plus Clobetasone and use it for the next 48 to 72 hours, at least twice a day, to see the response. Consult your specialist doctor, discuss with them and take medicines with their consent—however, there is no alternative to physical examination for confirmation of diagnosis before starting this treatment.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
