Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I am a 19-year-old girl suffering from an itchy, dry, and flaky scalp for two years. I have dandruff, but this flaky scalp is only in one spot of my scalp, which is the backside of my hairline. I tried using Ketoconazole 2% shampoo for two weeks and discontinued it since it changed the texture of my hair and caused even more hair fall. I am also having more hair fall than usual for three months. Currently, I am using no medication except bhringraj oil. Please help.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern. I suggest you to follow the below instructions. Wash scalp with Salisia KT (Ketoconazole 2% and Salicylic Acid 2%) shampoo on alternate days for ten days then twice weekly for three weeks or Xgain shampoo thrice weekly for six weeks. Apply Topisal 6% (Clobetasol 0.05% and Salicylic Acid 6%) lotion in evening on scalp lesions for ten minutes then wash off for ten days. Avoid oil application. Apply Motium (Mometasone 0.1%) cream at night for ten days. Avoid scratching and rubbing of lesion, ensure proper hair hygiene and avoid stress. I hope this helps.
Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
Thanks for your reply. Should I apply all this together or anyone of them?
Hi,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern. I suggest you to use all. Xgain shampoo is for hair damage repair. Salisia KT shampoo (Ketoconazole 2% and Salicylic Acid 2%) is for dandruff issues. Application of Topisal 6% lotion (Clobetasol 0.05% and Salicylic Acid 6%) in evening will help. I hope this helps.
