Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have IUD in my ovary. On the 16th day of the menstrual cycle, I had sexual contact with my husband, and now I am worried I might get pregnant. My period cycle is irregular. Please help me.

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

Kindly let me know if IUD (intra-uterine device) is displaced. If yes, then contact a specialist for the transvaginal scan. Please send me further detailed history. IUDs such as Mirena can reduce cycles due to hormonal effects. You can have serum beta hCG (human chorionic gonadotrophin) to check your pregnancy status to be on the safe side. This will give you exact knowledge regarding your situation. As you are already in IUD at the proper place or working, you would have fewer pregnancy chances. I await your response regarding the appropriate placement information for IUD and serum beta hCG.

I hope this information will help.

Thank you.
